Lake Zaysan is a true pearl of East Kazakhstan and one of the oldest lakes on the planet. Rivers such as the Black Irtysh, Kokpekty, Zharma and Kenderlik flow into Zaysan, and the legendary Irtysh (White Irtysh River) flows out, connecting the lake with other bodies of water.
