Mount Edyge is considered sacred and is a place of pilgrimage. They say that the Khan of the Golden Horde was buried on the top of the mountain, whose name was Edyge Toktamysh Khan, who was also the founder of the Nogai Horde. Those who were on the mountain said that they were filled with strength and confidence, thoughts calmed down and completely stopped. Mount Edyge is considered a place of strength and energy recharging.

But there are two routes up Mount Edyge, one is located on the northwestern tip of the mountain, the second is located on the southeastern part. Option 1, north-west: from the village of Sarlyk, it is necessary to pass Lake Kenenbay, and several fords across the Sarykuz River, wintering Tokseit, a distance of 28 kilometers before the start of the ascent to Mount Edyge. From here it will take you 2 hours to climb to the top, depending on your walking pace. The car can be left 2 kilometers south of the wintering Tokseit. Option 2, southeast: from the village of Ulytau drive 28 kilometers through the Kazakhmys recreation area, partly on asphalt and the last 13 kilometers on a country road. There is a marked trail to Mount Edyge, but you will see the path to the mountain and the direction yourself.
