The Zhaman Uy petroglyphs are located in the Almaty region, above the Turgen Gorge, behind the Assi plateau in the Zhaman Uy mountain tract. The petroglyphs are located on the right bank of the Assy River, which flows through the Assy mountain plateau.

To see the petroglyphs in the Zhaman Uy tract, we will need to climb high into the mountains and drive through popular tourist places such as the Turgen Gorge, the Bear Waterfall, the Assy mountain plateau, and the Assy Observatory. This direction is very popular, through the Assi plateau we will continue to the Zhaman Uy tract and then you can drive along this mountain road to the Bartogai reservoir. Along the way, we will see all the local attractions, see herds of animals that graze on the Assi plateau and nomads who live here in the summer. This trip will take us two days with an overnight stay on the Assi plateau.
