Zhenishke gorge (kaz. Zhinishke), the most beautiful mountain gorge and the valley of the Zhinishke river, a natural landmark of the Almaty region. A river called Zhenishke flows through the gorge, trout fish is found in the river. Fishing is prohibited here. The Zhinishke River originates at an altitude of 3500 meters, high in the mountains of the Trans-Ili Alatau, then flows through the Zhenishke Gorge. The length of the Zhenishke gorge is 63 kilometers.

Zhinishke Gorge – how to get there

The Zhinishke gorge is located in the mountains of the Zailiysky Alatau, in the Kegen district of the Almaty region, the Kungei Alatau mountain range and the Sarytau mountain range, the Bakaly mountains. Zhinishke Gorge – information for tourists

A mountain road passes through the Zhinishke gorge, the gorge is narrow, sometimes wide. The heights prevailing in the gorge vary from 1200 meters above sea level to 3500 meters. In the upper reaches of the gorge is the Amanzhol pass, the height of which is 3649 meters above sea level. In the gorge there is a valley and a mountain tract Taban-Karagay, a very beautiful picturesque place. We recommend traveling through the gorge in a 4x4 off-road vehicle, accompanied by a second car for safety and mutual assistance. We do not recommend traveling here in winter, as the roads become impassable for cars.
