Ancient fortresses of Atyrau region -
Travel from Karakalpakstan to the city of Atyrau and Atyrau region -
Kurgancha is an ancient fortress of the 15th-17th centuries, a medieval city, an outpost, a fortification, an architectural monument, and is the ruins of an ancient building on the banks of the Uil River. Part of the walls of the fortress has been preserved; the directions of the walls are clearly visible; the satellite photo shows the distinct outlines of this object. The scale of the structure is 375 x 375; there was a settlement around the fortress, the center of which was the citadel fortress. The walls of the fortress were lined with clay bricks and reached a height of 5 meters. There is very little information about this object; there is no information at all in official sources; information is only available on the websites of tour companies and private travelers. According to one legend, the Kurgancha fortress was built by Nuraly Khan; research here was carried out in 2006 by a group of archaeologists from Atyrau University, there is no information about these studies.

The Kurgancha fortress is located 11 kilometers from the village of Karasai, 7 kilometers from the village of Aydin, Kyzylkoginsky district, Atyrau region, Republic of Kazakhstan.
