Nauan Khazret Mosque The mosque was opened for public use on September 17, 2015. The place of prayer differs depending on the gender of those praying. Women pray on the second floor, and men on the first. The mosque is named in honor of Nurizbe Talasov (1843-1916), a famous theologian who preached Islam and was known as a tireless fighter for the rights of the Kazakhs in Tsarist Russia. Construction of the mosque began in March 2010. The official opening of the mosque took place on September 16. The mosque is one of the unique architectural landmarks of the city. The latest and most modern technologies were used during the construction of the mosque. The total area of the mosque is 15,279 m². The area of the mosque is 5,138 m². The design of the mosque is a mixture of traditional Kazakh art and classical Islamic style. The central hall of the mosque is a huge hall covered with a dome, the interior is made of white marble, and the mosque is illuminated by 45 chandeliers.
