Traveling from the city of Semipalatinsk to the city of Pavlodar –
One-day excursion around the city of Pavlodar –
The Alley of Veterans of the Great Patriotic War in the city of Pavlodar is also a small recreation park. The Park contains monuments to veterans of the Great Patriotic War who defended their homeland from foreign invaders. Once upon a time, this place was located on the outskirts of the city and there was a wasteland here, with only military barracks located nearby. Then, on the site of the wasteland, the previous authorities made a small square, then a military registration and enlistment office appeared here, and from this place people went to war to defend their homeland. The square and the alley of veterans began to be improved in the year of the 40th anniversary of the Victory over Nazi Germany. A T-34 tank was installed in the park; this happened on May 9, 1987, on Victory Day. Initially, this park was called “School Park”, then it was renamed “Park, Veterans Square”. When the Soviet Union collapsed, the monument to V.I. was moved to the park. Lenin, now this monument is not there; it disappeared after the reconstruction of the park. The monument to the T-34 tank was also moved to another location.
