The Obelisk of Glory in honor of Aktobe residents who died fighting for their homeland in the Great Patriotic War is a historical monument, was laid in 1969. A stone was originally installed on the site of the obelisk, then in 1970 an obelisk and a stele were erected here. When the war began, the residents of the city actively participated in combat battles against the fascist invaders on the lands of Moscow, Stalingrad, Ukraine and Belarus. Aktobe residents showed a vivid example of courage and heroism. The height of the obelisk is 18 meters, at the base of the obelisk of stones there is an image of a Soviet soldier, a warrior, next to the obelisk there is an eternal flame that never goes out, the image of war look into this fire. The image of a soldier is dressed in a Red Army military overcoat, a Budenovka hat covers his head, a soldier holds a sword in his right raised hand, his left hand is clenched into a fist. These attributes, except for the sword, were worn by all soldiers of the Red Army during the Great Patriotic War. Architect T. Dzhanisbekov and sculptor N. Sobolev.
