Matak Batyr Mausoleum is the place of the ancient burial of a great man, a sacred and sacred place and a place of pilgrimage in the Karkaraly district. The mausoleum is also included in the map of sacred sites of the Republic of Kazastan. The mausoleum is located in a square structure, inside of which there are 8 graves, on one side there is a small entrance. The Karaganda– Karagaily railway runs next to the mausoleum. Legend has it that when a train was traveling very fast along this railway, it derailed and overturned. 200 meters from the mausoleum, there is a special sign about slowing down the speed for the train, now trains pass at low speed near the holy place so as not to disturb the souls of departed ancestors.

The mausoleum of Matak Batyr is located in the Karkaraly district, next to the railway from the city of Karaganda to the village of Karagaily, Karaganda region, Republic of Kazakhstan.

Information -
Matak Batyr (1735-1824), a fighter for the freedom of the Kazakh people and the Kazakh country, was the commander of Abylai Khan. At the age of seven, he participated as a soldier in the Yesil-Nuri War under the leadership of Bogenbai Batyr. The first source of information about Matak Batyr was the local historian S. Dauletbayev. Documents confirming that Matak Batyr was the mayor of Karkarala are kept in one of the museums of Karkarala. Togalakuly Matak was appointed military commander by order of Abylai Khan, they say it was in September 1754. Matak batyr died at the age of 89, and he was buried on the banks of the Matak River, named in his honor. Now a small mausoleum has been erected on the site of the ancient burial and commemorative plaques have been installed.
