The Shahristan Tourist Center (Ancient Traza) was opened in the city of Taraz to attract tourists to the region and develop the tourism industry in the Zhambyl region. A stele with a clock tower 35 meters high was also installed here. During the excavations that are currently being carried out at the site of the ancient settlement of Shakhristan, many ancient artifacts were discovered that date back to the XI-XII centuries, all artifacts are now stored in the museum of the Shakhristan complex, if desired, you can view them and get acquainted with the information that local guides can tell you. Also on the site of the ancient settlement were found: a medieval citadel, an VIII century mosque, a madrasah, an altar of the Zoroastrians, the embankment of the ancient Talas riverbed, the foundations of residential buildings.
