Baizhansai is an abandoned village, a mine in the Turkestan region, was founded in 1930 in connection with the discovery of polymetallic ores. A processing plant was operating in the village of Baizhansai. The mine was found by a local hunter who mined lead for himself here and smelted bullets from it for hunting. The hunter's name was Baizhan, so the village and the mine were named after this hunter. In 1990, after the collapse of the USSR, lead mining in the village stopped and the village fell into disrepair, and the inhabitants left it. Now the village and the mine are in an abandoned state, no more than 200 people live here, 100 women and 100 men.
During the heyday of the village of Baizhansai, industrial cooperatives and private farms worked here, there were educational, cultural, educational, health-improving institutions, 4,000 people lived in the village. Residents communicate with the city of Shymkent, the district center and other settlements by road. The ruins of the village attract tourists as they are located in a picturesque mountainous area, nearby is the mountain lake Baizhansai, which is reached by a mountain road. It is possible to move here only by 4x4 high-terrain jeeps, in winter these places are completely inaccessible and cut off from the world by a snow cover that comes down only in spring and summer.

Baizhansai lead deposit -
The Baizhansai lead deposit is located in the Baidibek district of Turkestan region. The deposit was first discovered in 1904 by Russian researchers. Exploration work began in 1930. The deposit was formed in the Devonian-Carboniferous period along the Aksuran syncline and the Baizhansai fault crossing it. The lithological and petrographic composition includes red sandstone, fine pebble conglomerate, siltstone and carbonate deposits. The thickness of the layer consisting of conglomerate, sandstone and limestone with the main ore bodies is 200-250 m.
