Ancient mound and Saka burial of the Golden Man -
Esik is a city, district and center of city administration in the Enbekshikazak district. The site of the city of Esik has been inhabited by people since ancient times. In the northern part of the city, the Saka culture existed before our era; the most famous monument of the 5th-4th centuries, the Issyk burial mounds, and the ancient burial of the “Golden Man” are located here. In 1854, the village of Nadezhdinskaya was built on the site of this ancient settlement. Since 1923 it has been called the city of Esik, and received city status in 1968. The city is also famous for the fact that it is home to the famous winery “Esik Winery”, where the famous Issyk wines are produced.

The city of Esik is located 90 km southeast of the city of Konaev, 43 km east of the city of Almaty, on the northern slope of the Trans-Ili Alatau, at an altitude of 935-1040 m above sea level, in the cone of the Esik River, Enbekshikazakh district, Almaty region, Republic of Kazakhstan.

Information, history -
In Soviet times, Esik was one of the richest settlements in the Kazakh SSR. There was a bakery and a dairy plant that supplied bread and dairy products to the entire Enbekshikazakh region, a fruit and vegetable plant, a textile and clothing factory, and a rubber products plant. Livestock farming and farming developed in the vicinity of the city. The fields were planted with wheat, corn and potatoes, among other things. Apple orchards were planted on the mountain slopes. The wine from the local winery was known throughout the Soviet Union. The city is located in the foothills of the Trans-Ili Alatau in a very beautiful and picturesque place; tourists come here for excursion programs.
