The famous burial complex "Boraldai Saka mounds" is also part of the museum, exhibits of the royal dynasty of that period are presented here, the cultural and natural landscape has been preserved. Hall "History of Ancient and Medieval Almaty". "At the origins of Kazakh statehood", hall "Zhetysu ethnography". The exhibition is dedicated to the history of the region during the formation of the Kazakh Khanate, Kazakh military art, Kazakh ethnography. The exhibition, telling about the medieval military art of the Kazakhs, introduces the military equipment of Kazakh warriors during the formation of the Kazakh Khanate. The section of the material culture of the Kazakh people presents unique examples of jewelry art, household items that tell about the crafts and economic traditions of the Zhetysu Kazakhs.
Hall "Verny period of the history of Almaty". The exhibition is dedicated to the development of the city of Verny, which was the center of the Zhitysu district at the turn of the 19th-20th centuries. At this time, the planning structure of the city was laid, its architectural appearance was formed, the system of educational and cultural institutions was developed. Documents, rare examples of furniture art by masters and exquisite household items of the 19th century, closely associated with the names of outstanding Vernin residents, reflect the unique atmosphere of that era.
Hall "Almaty in the 20th Century". The exposition of the hall "Almaty in the 20th Century" introduces the most important periods in the life of the city, the former capital of Kazakhstan: the construction of the Turksib, political persecution, the Great Patriotic War, the development of science and culture, professional art, mountaineering. Installations and exhibition ensembles "Turksib", "City Life", "Television" and chronicle-documentary materials are presented by multimedia means.
Hall of development "Professional Art". This hall displays recordings of the first programs and photographs of famous announcers, archival historical data and television and radio equipment, revealing the significance of the history of television and demonstrated on an LED screen.
The hall "Zheltoksan" is dedicated to the December Uprising of 1986. The exhibition presents unique artifacts that captured the events of 1986 and are intertwined with archival photo documentary materials.
