Travel from Ust-Kamenogorsk to Lake Rakhmanovskoye -
The road through the mountain pass Burkhat (2141) and the mountain pass Alataysky (1792 m) is a mountain road intended for high-cross-country vehicles jeeps (4x4). The road is open and accessible only in the summer months, June, July, August. The road starts behind the village of Chingistai if you are driving from the village of Katon-Karagay. In winter, the road is completely covered with snow and inaccessible, we also do not recommend traveling here in spring and autumn. There is no asphalt on the road, there are sharp turns on the road, the road is a single-lane country road. In some places on the road, it is necessary to ford rivers, and large puddles of water can form on the road after heavy rainfall. The road leads to the mountainous region of the Markakol Reserve, along which you can get to the famous Lake Markakol on the shore of which the village of Urunkhaika is located. You can also take this road to the Katon-Karagay Park and visit the sights of Katon-Karagay if you are driving through the Mramorny mountain pass from the village of Terekty across Lake Zaysan in the opposite direction.
