Information -
The Kuyeutam Mazar (mausoleum) was discovered in 2004 by researchers from the Mangistau Nature Reserve - this is a typical sandstone structure for the region, where each slab breathes history. Its square outlines hide mysterious petroglyphs: handprints, silhouettes of domestic animals, sabers and daggers - like an encrypted message from the past. The arched entrance, traditional for local sacred architecture, seems to separate the earthly world from the spiritual world. According to legend, Kuyeutam was not just a saint — he was the son-in-law of Shopan-ata himself, which makes this place part of the great spiritual chain of Mangistau. Today, the mazar is included in the route of pilgrims heading to the underground mosques of Beket-ata and Shakpak-ata, uniting the past and present into a single stream of faith.
Kuyeutam is more than a historical site. This is a place where time slows down, where stones remember prayers, and silence speaks louder than words. For locals, it remains a spiritual landmark, and for travelers, the key to understanding the spirit of Mangistau, where every rock is a page of history, and every mazar is a gate to eternity. A visit to this place is not an excursion, but a touch of mystery, where legends intertwine with reality, and faith continues to create history.
