Excursion to the Port and Village of Bautino -
Bautino is a village and seaport in the Tupkaragan District of the Mangystau Region.
Geographical Location
The district center is located 4 km northwest of the town of Fort Shevchenko on the Caspian Sea coast.
History
It was founded in 1849 as the Nikolaevsky Railway Station. In 1922, it was renamed by A.E. Bautin by order of the Second Party Conference of the Mangystau Region.
Industry
Bautino is one of the largest centers of the fishing industry in Kazakhstan. It has a fish and seal farm, a fish canning factory, and a ship repair company. The factory produces canned fish, fish mills, seals, sausages, and tinplate processing. Transportation and residential facilities are available.
Transportation
Bautino is connected by road to the regional centers of Aktau and Fort-Shevchenko, and by sea to Atyrau and Astrakhan.
Infrastructure
The village has one lyceum, one gymnasium (Kazakh and Russian), a branch of the Mangistau Polytechnic College, two kindergartens, two clinics, two libraries, a post office, six hotels, a café-bar, 26 retail outlets, two hairdressers, three children's playgrounds, a telephone exchange, and a fountain. The village is home to many foreign and domestic companies.

The village of Bautino is famous for its historical heritage. For example, the Lower and Upper Berks (1863), the Maritime Agency, the North Caucasian Mercury Company (1887), the monument to A.A. Bautin (1927), the memorial plaque to Alibi Dzhangildin (1978), the first organizer of fisheries. The house of Zakhar Kuzmich Dubskoy (1913).
