Waterfall on the Kishi-Kaindy River in the Aksu-Zhabagly Nature Reserve

Travel from Almaty to the Aksu-Zhabagly Nature Reserve -

Nature of the Turkestan Region and Travel -

The Kishi-Kaindy River Waterfall is a beautiful five-step mountain waterfall that flows through the beautiful and picturesque Kishi-Kaindy Mountain Gorge. This is a place where the mountains hold the clouds, and the wind sings ancient songs, a fast, cold, wild river flows - Kishi-Kaindy. It does not make noise, but rings like the strings of a dombra, stretched by nature itself. And in one of the secluded corners of the Aksu-Zhabagly Nature Reserve, where the rocks open up into the green mouth of the gorge, Kishi-Kaindy breaks down from a height and turns into a seething waterfall - bright, alive, unruly. This waterfall cannot be called the highest or the most full-flowing. But it has something that many lack - wild power, pure energy and pristine beauty. It thunders, crashing against the rocks, enveloping the air in a million drops, which reflect the sun, the sky and the greenery of the mountains. You stand next to it - and it is as if you are cleansed of the hustle and bustle, of the noise of the cities, of everything unnecessary. A unique combination of sounds and colors gives this place a special magic. The roar of falling water, amplified by a natural stone resonator, creates the effect of a powerful organ - the locals call it "the singing of mountain spirits". And on a sunny day, when the rays break through the water dust, several rainbows flash over the gorge at once, forming a real light bridge between the rocks. The bravest tourists can come to the very foot of the waterfall, where the vibration of the water literally penetrates the whole body, and the icy splashes refresh even on the hottest day - the temperature here never rises above + 4 ° C due to the glacial origin of the river.
