Excursion to the Bolshoy Talgar Pass in Shymbulak -
The upper cableway "Left Talgar" is located at an altitude of 2973 meters above sea level, on the Big Talgar Pass the altitude of which is 3163 meters above sea level. The cableway operates in winter, it is used by skiers, snowboarders and just people relaxing and spending active recreation in the mountains. The cableway was built in 2012, it is a 4-chairlift. Along the cableway from the pass in winter there is a ski slope, along which you can go down the gorge, the length of the slope is 1 kilometer, the width is 500 meters.
To climb the Talgar Pass, you need to get to the Medeo high-mountain complex, which is located in the small Almaty gorge, here you can buy tickets for the cable car to the pass, on the way to the pass you will make 2 transfers to other cable cars. Your first stop will be at the Shymbulak high-mountain ski resort, which operates both in winter and in summer. There are places to relax, bars and restaurants, the resort offers a gorgeous panorama of the Zailiyskiy Alatau mountains and the city of Almaty. From the Medeo sports complex to Shymbulak, travel by car with an internal combustion engine is prohibited, you can only get here in your own electric car or order an electric car taxi, which are located next to the Medeo skating rink. The start of the cable car and the ticket office are located just below the Medeo sports complex.

The Upper Cable Car "Left Talgar" is located 23 kilometers from Almaty, up Nazarbayev Street through the Small Almaty Gorge, above the high-mountain base Shymbulak, on the Bolshoy Talgar Pass, Almaty Region, Republic of Kazakhstan.
