Elovaya Mountain is a separate mountain peak, located at an altitude of 2330 meters above sea level, is a place for active recreation and mountain hikes, a mountain route from the Medeo tract leads to the top of the mountain. The ascent to the mountain begins in the Kimasar gorge from the place where the asphalt road ends along the route that leads to the "Swing in the mountains of Almaty". The mountain is perfect for a one-day hike in the mountains within the city of Almaty and is famous for the fact that the mountain is densely covered with coniferous forest. From the top of the mountain, a bird's eye view of the mountain panorama of the Kimasar gorge and the Butakov gorge opens up. If desired, you can descend from the mountain to the Butakovskoye gorge and return along another interesting route. Mount Yelovaya is located in the Zailiyskiy Alatau Mountains between the Kimasar Gorge and the Butakov Gorge, Ile Alatau Park, Medeu District, Almaty Region, Republic of Kazakhstan.

When hiking to Mount Yelovaya, be sure to use the services of certified mountain guides. Mountain guides will prepare you for the hike, instruct you and safely guide you along the route. Do not go to the mountains alone, do not leave the trail, do not come close to rocky cliffs, snow cornices and turbulent rivers. Monitor the weather and choose clear sunny days for your trip. During the hike, always stay in a group so that everyone is always in sight of each other, always wait for those who lag behind. Do not walk in the mountains at night or in the dark. Calculate your time in the mountains wisely, try to return in the afternoon before dusk and complete darkness, be sure to consult with mountain guides about this. For hiking in the mountains, use special sportswear and equipment. Do not walk in the mountains in flip-flops, slippers and light soft shoes, take care of your feet, your feet should be protected by reliable mountain shoes for trekking and hiking with ankle fixation. Do not forget about altitude sickness and the need for acclimatization in a mountainous area for a further comfortable stay in the mountains.
