Organization of trips to Kazakhstan from anywhere in the world -
Khamit Ergali Dostyk Park (Friendship Park) is one of the cozy and green recreation areas of Almaty, located in the picturesque southeastern part of the city, along Temiryazev Street and Zein Shashkin Street. This Park combines tranquility, nature and the spirit of grateful memory, because it is named after the famous Kazakhstani poet and journalist Hamit Ergali, a man whose works inspired love for his native land and for people.
Today, Dostyk Park has become a place where residents and visitors of the city can stroll along the shady alleys, relax on benches or sit on the grass under one of the many trees. It is convenient to spend time with children, take a walk or just enjoy the view of the mountains of the Trans-Ili Alatau, which offers a beautiful panorama from the park. The Yessentai River flows next to the park, along which a pedestrian zone is landscaped, so the place is very popular, here you can walk in the park and then walk along the river listening to the sound of water.
History
Dostyk Park was founded at the end of the 20th century as part of the green belt in Almaty, which connects the city center with the foothill area. Dostyk means "Friendship" in Kazakh, so this is Friendship Park. Over the years, the park's territory has been improved and changed its appearance, but it has always remained one of the favorite recreation areas for Almaty residents.
In 2011, the park was named after Hamit Ergali, a talented poet, journalist and public figure who devoted his life to the culture of Kazakhstan. This decision was a tribute to his contribution to the development of Kazakh literature and journalism.
In the following years, the park was reconstructed several times. The paths were updated, new trees and flowers were planted, benches, lighting and playgrounds were installed. As a result, it has turned into a modern, well-groomed and lively space, where the hustle and bustle of the city seems to dissolve among greenery and silence.
Nature and atmosphere
Dostyk Park is especially beautiful in spring and autumn. In spring, it is filled with the scent of flowering trees, and in autumn it is covered with golden leaves, turning into a living painting. In summer, you can escape from the heat of the day in the park and take shelter in the shade of the trees. Due to the proximity to the mountains and the Yesentai River, the air here is always cleaner and fresher than in the center, and the singing of birds and the sound of foliage help to forget about urban worries.
This place is loved by families with children, elderly residents, students and romantics – everyone finds their own mood here. In the mornings they come here for a jog, in the afternoon they walk with the children, and in the evening, they relax to the soft music played here by novice musicians. There are squirrels in the park that can be hand-fed with nuts, squirrels are not afraid of people.
