Travel and recreation in Borovoe

Individual tours in Akmola region and Kazakhstan

In the very heart of the legendary Borovoe, among the endless pine forests and ancient granite rocks, Big Chebachye Lake is hidden – a place where nature seems to have stopped time to give us a piece of its pristine beauty. The lake stretches for several kilometers, its waters are clear, like a frozen mirror, in which the mighty peaks and endless sky are reflected. In summer, the water here warms up to a pleasant coolness, and its mineral composition makes swimming not only pleasant, but also healing. The wind gently sways the surface, and a light pine aroma fills the air with life-giving freshness. The length of the lake is 7.5 kilometers, the width is 4.5 kilometers, the depth is 37 meters, it is the largest lake in the Burabay National Park. Near the lake there are other equally famous and interesting lakes: Lake Maloe Chebachye, Lake Borovoe (Auyelikol) and Lake Shchuchye.

Information

When you stand on the shore of Lake Bolshoe Chebachye (Big), this gigantic reservoir, it seems as if time flows here according to different laws. This is not just a lake – it is a whole universe, where every stone, every wave, every ray of light tells its own centuries-old story. The water here is special - on a sunny day it shimmers with all shades of turquoise and sapphire, and in cloudy weather it becomes mysteriously silvery, like liquid metal. Local fishermen swear that the depths of the lake are inhabited by the spirit of the lake - a huge long-lived sturgeon, which, according to legend, is more than a hundred years old. It is called "Ata-Balyk" (Father Fish), and those rare lucky ones who have seen it, talk about scales that shimmer like moonlight.

Along the shores of the lake grow giant pine trees, many of which are three to four hundred years old - their roots go deep into the ground, as if trying to reach the very heart of the lake. They are especially beautiful in September, when the first frosts cover the needles with frost, turning the trees into crystal sculptures. And if you walk along the eastern shore to the "Stone Fingers" tract, you can discover an amazing phenomenon - granite pillars standing strictly in a circle, like giant menhirs. Scientists talk about glacial origin, but old people in the surrounding villages whisper that these are the remains of an ancient temple, where they once prayed to the spirits of water.

The water in Chebachye is so transparent that even at a depth of ten meters you can see the bottom - underwater meadows of charophytes, where schools of rare blue perch frolic. Hydrologists have discovered a unique phenomenon here - "underwater springs" gushing from the bottom and creating vertical currents. It is thanks to them that the lake never freezes completely - even in severe thirty-degree frosts, there are openings from which steam rises, creating surreal landscapes. The local sunrises have a special magic. At first, a milky-white fog spreads over the water, then the first rays of the sun paint it in pink and gold tones, and finally, as if by magic, the fog dissipates, revealing a mirror-like surface in which the clouds are reflected. At such moments, it seems as if the line between the sky and the water, between reality and reflection, is erased. It is not for nothing that shamans considered this place a gateway to other worlds - strange stone circles and ritual objects over two thousand years old are still found here.

Modern scientists confirm the anomalous properties of these places - devices record a special electromagnetic field, and the water is close in composition to the famous Alpine springs. But the main miracle of Bolshoe Chebachye Lake is its ability to heal not the body, but the soul. After a few hours on its shore, worries and fuss disappear, and a strange feeling appears in the chest - as if you have finally returned home, to the place where they have been waiting for you all these years. Maybe that is why people are drawn here so much – not only for beautiful photos, but to touch, at least for a moment, the eternity that this ancient lake so carefully preserves. The climate in the lake area is moderately continental: in summer it is warm and sunny, the air temperature in July often reaches +25°C, and in winter the surrounding area is covered with a blanket of snow, turning into a kingdom of snow-white silence. In spring the air is filled with the aroma of flowers, and in autumn the forests are generously scattered with mushrooms and berries.
