Walk to Lake Kaindy along the Kaindy River Gorge -

Lake Small Kaindy (Maloe) is a picturesque small lake located at an altitude of 1920 meters above sea level at the beginning of the route to the main lake Kaindy in the Kolsay Lakes National Park. The lake is located near the car park and you can walk to it. The length of the lake is 115 meters, the width is 60 meters, next to the lake in the summer there are yurts in which you can relax. This lake is not the main attraction of the park, but is of interest to people vacationing here. You will be able to take excellent photos on the lake, the lake differs from the main lake Kaindy in its size and appearance. The water in the lake is clear, the most beautiful coniferous forest grows around the lake. Here you can take a walk or pitch a tent and spend the night in the wild. In addition to this location, the national park is famous for its Kolsay lakes, which are located on the other side and along them there is a mountain route that runs along all three lakes. Also, further along the Shilik (Chilik) River there are mountain gorges such as the Karasai gorge and the Kurmenty gorge, which can be climbed by 4x4 high-traffic vehicles. These areas are popular because they are rarely visited and difficult to access, and visiting them requires additional time in the park. The starting point in the park is the village of Saty, where you can rent a guest house and eat in a local cafe with national Kazakh cuisine.

Small Lake Kaindy is located 12 kilometers from the village of Saty next to the main lake Kaindy, Kolsay Lakes National Park, Kungei Alatau Mountains, Kegen District, Almaty Region, Republic of Kazakhstan.
