Route from the Dzhusaly-Kezen Pass to the Almaty Pass (Prokhodnoy) -
The Prokhodnoy Pass is a mountain pass, also known as the Almaty Pass, located in the upper reaches of the Prokhodnoye gorge, located at an altitude of 3599 meters above sea level. The border between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan runs along the pass, behind the pass on the territory of Kyrgyzstan is Lake Primul. A mountain route leads to the pass through the Prokhodnoye gorge and theTerra mountain meadow. There is also a second route from the Dzhusaly-Kezen Pass, which takes you through the Bolshoe Almatinskoye gorge (Big Almaty), on the way to which you will see the famous Bolshoe Almatinskoye Lake (Big Almaty). On the Dzhusaly-Kezen Pass is the "Cosmostation", and a little lower is the Tien Shan Astronomical Observatory. When traveling to the Prokhodnoy Pass, we recommend not to cross the state border between the states, as there is no checkpoint there, and illegal border crossing is prosecuted by law. But there are daredevils who descend from the pass to Lake Primul and then return back.
