Left Talgar Gorge is a picturesque mountain gorge, part of the national Almaty reserve and located in the Zailiysky Alatau mountains. The gorge is very popular among fans of active recreation and multi-day mountain trips. The gorge is the western part of the main Talgar gorge, through which the turbulent mountain river Talgar flows. To visit the gorge, you need to get to the Big Talgar Pass by the Medeo-Chimbulak cable car, which begins in the Medeu tract just below the Medeo high-mountain skating rink (sports complex). It is also possible to get to the gorge through the Butakovskiy Pass along another mountain route, which runs near the Furmanov Peak. Through the Left Talgar Gorge you can get to such places as Solnechnaya Polyana, Kazpi Glade, Tourists Pass, and along the way we will see the Dmitriev Glacier. There is a 5-day route called Almaty Krugosvetka around the city of Almaty. The route is not difficult and very picturesque.

The Left Talgar Gorge is located behind the Bolshoi Talgar Pass above the Shymbulak sports base, the upper reaches of the Tulgar Gorge, Medeu District, Almaty Region, Republic of Kazakhstan.
