One-day mountain hike to Tourists Pass from Big Almaty Lake -
Turists is a mountain pass located at an altitude of 4039 meters above sea level, two rivers originate at the pass, these are the Bolshaya Almatinka River and the Left Talgar River. Through the pass there is a route "Almaty Around the World" from the Big Almaty Gorge through the Big Almaty Lake and further to the Left Talgar Gorge. Also, Tourists Pass serves as a starting point for such mountain peaks as Pogrebtskogo Peak (4213), Molodaya Gvardiya Peak (4399), Sovetskikh Alpinistov Peak (4379). To visit the pass, you will need one day, depending on where you start your route, you can make this mountain crossing to the pass in two days.
You can also get to the Tourist Pass through the Bolshoi Talgar Pass through the Left Talgar Gorge through the Maloye Almatinskoye Gorge. Both routes are considered easy and are suitable for all ages, but keep in mind that even easy routes require physical fitness and the ability to be in the mountains on mountain trails at altitudes above 4000 meters above sea level.
