Asy is a high-altitude plateau, a landmark of the Almaty region located in the Enbekshi district above the Turgen mountain gorge at an altitude of 2500 meters above sea level. There is a mountain road along the Asy plateau that goes to the Bartogay reservoir, it is possible to drive here only by 4x4 jeep. The Asy Plateau is very popular among the local population and visitors from abroad.
There is a high-altitude Assy-Turgen observatory for stargazing on the Asy plateau, here you can look at the stars with a telescope if you decide to spend the night on the plateau. A small and very picturesque river Asy flows along the plateau. The Asy Plateau is part of the Ile-Alatau National Natural Park, the entire territory is under protection, fishing and hunting are prohibited here. Also, on the Asy plateau, it is necessary to follow the rules of visiting not to litter, clean up the garbage, do not make bonfires.
