The best time to hike in the mountains of Almaty city -

Peak Malysh is a mountain peak located at an altitude of 3820 meters above sea level in the middle part of the Small Almaty gorge on the rocky isthmus of the Molodezhny peak and Titov peak. The peak is not very difficult to climb, but you still need to be in good physical shape and have the skill to be in the mountains at altitudes over 3000 meters above sea level.

The route to Peak Malysh starts from the high-mountain base Chimbulak, which can be reached by taxi from the Medeo sports complex or by the Medeo-Chimbulak cable car from the Medeu tract, which is located just below the Medeu high-mountain skating rink. On the way you will walk along the Small Almaty River above the Mynzhylki tract, rest at the T1 glaciological station and continue your route. On the approach to the peak, a rock slide begins, the trail disappears, so you need to navigate by the stone tours (stone pyramids), which are installed along the final part of the route to the peak.

It is best to make your hike to the peak from May to October, this is the most favorable and safe time.
