Mountain peaks in the Gorelnik mountain range -
When and where to visit the mountains of Almaty -
Chasovaya Mountain (Clock Mount) is a mountain peak located at an altitude of 3300 meters above sea level in the mountains of the Trans–Ili Alatau. The mountain is very popular with fans of outdoor activities and hiking in the mountains, as it is located on a beautiful mountain route that covers 4 mountain peaks and two mountain gorges at once. The gorges in question and between which the mountain is located are the Small Almaty Gorge and Gorelnik Gorge. The mountain peaks that are located on the route are Mynzhilki Peak, Medik Peak and Pribornaya Mountain. If you climb to the peak of Mynzhilki, then you can go down the mountain range to Mount Chasovaya, visiting these peaks. You can also climb the mountain separately from both mountain gorges and not visit the listed peaks. But usually 4 peaks are visited at once during one hike. You can climb Mynzhilki Peak from the Small Almaty Gorge, and if you only climb Chasovaya Mountain, then you can climb from Gorelnik Gorge, visiting along the way the famous Gorelnik waterfalls and Gorelnik hot spring, which is located at the entrance to the gorge. Usually, this route runs from the Small Almaty Gorge, rising to the Mynzhilki peak and descending to the Chasovaya Mountain and then continuing down into the Gorelnik gorge, it turns out to be a small one-day trip around the world that covers many natural attractions at once. But keep in mind that this route requires good physical fitness, and you can start hiking as early as possible at 5 a.m. to start climbing to the peak of Mynzhilki.
