Hiking in the mountains in the Small Almaty gorge -
Trekking to the upper reaches of the Gorelnik gorge -
Mount Pribornaya is a mountain peak located at an altitude of 3359 meters above sea level in the Trans-Ili Alatau mountains on the mountain range between the Gorelnik gorge and the Maloye Almatinskoye gorge. The mountain is very popular among fans of active recreation and hiking in the mountains as it is located on a picturesque mountain route. Climbing the mountain is usually done from the upper reaches of the Small Almaty gorge from the high-mountain base Shymbulak, which is reached by cable car Medeo-Shymbulak and then through the mountain tract Vorota Tuyuk-Su rise to the peak Mynzhilky. Then from this peak I make a hike down the ridge to the peak Medik and then go to the top of Mount Pribornaya. From the mountain and along the route, a beautiful mountain panorama opens up to the valley of the Small Almaty River and the Gorelnik gorge. From the mountain, they usually descend into the Gorelnik gorge and go down along the way visiting the famous Gorelnik waterfalls, one of which is located in the upper part of the gorge, the other is located in the lower part of the gorge. At the beginning of the Gorelnik gorge, that is, in its lower part along our route, there is a hot water spring Gorelnik, in which you can take a hot bath and recharge your batteries after a long hike.

Safety in the mountains -
When hiking to the Pribornaya mountain peak, be sure to use the services of certified mountain guides. Mountain guides will prepare you for the hike, instruct you and safely lead you along the route. Do not hike alone, do not leave the trail, do not go close to rocky cliffs, snow cornices and turbulent rivers. Properly calculate your physical strength for being in the mountains, if you feel unwell, be able to stop in time and turn back, inform the mountain guide about your condition. Monitor the weather and choose clear sunny days for your trip. During the hike, always stay in a group so that everyone is always in sight of each other, always wait for those who lag behind. Do not hike in the mountains at night or in the dark. Plan your time in the mountains wisely, try to return in the afternoon before dusk and complete darkness, be sure to consult with mountain guides about this. Use special sportswear and equipment for hiking in the mountains. Do not go to the mountains in flip-flops, slippers and light soft shoes, take care of your feet, your feet should be protected by reliable mountain shoes for trekking and hiking with ankle fixation. Do not forget about altitude sickness and the need for acclimatization in a mountainous area for a further comfortable stay in the mountains. Also in the spring (May) there are ticks in the mountains, we recommend not visiting the mountains during this period.
