The best time to travel around Akmola region and Kazakhstan -
Nature of Buiratau Park -
Lake Bozaigyr is one of those places where the steppe reveals its quiet, almost meditative face. It is located in the Akmola region, in the northern part of the Buiratau National Park, and at first glance it may seem ordinary - it does not stand out in any way, does not make noise, does not require attention. But it is worth staying for at least an hour, and you begin to understand that in front of you is living history, part of the great, ancient breath of this land. The lake is home to fish: crucian carp, carp, carp, which makes it popular among fishermen, sport fishing is allowed on the lake (caught fish released). The lake is located near another lake Azhbai, both lakes are connected by a water channel. Near these lakes are the Yereymentau Mountains, which include the Kalmykozha Mountains and the Karatau Mountains. Lake Bozaigyr is like a steppe monk. Modest, silent, but filled with depth. And if you happen to be nearby, don’t pass by. Sit by the shore, be silent with it. Sometimes it is in such places that we begin to hear the most important things.

Information -
Lake Bozaigyr is surrounded by reeds along its entire perimeter, on the eastern side of the lake there is an open part and a small sandy beach. If desired, you can swim in the lake in the summer. There is no infrastructure on the lake, the lake is absolutely wild. The lake is spread out among gentle hills, surrounded by steppe, as if slowly spreading out a carpet of grass and rare bushes in front of you. The banks of Bozaigyr are low, in places overgrown with reeds, the water is clear, with barely noticeable ripples, as if whispering something in its own language. There are no stormy waves here, but there is always movement - light, calm, like the breathing of a sleeping giant. Birds love this lake. In spring and autumn, you can see many birds here, especially waterfowl. People who know their stuff come to watch - with binoculars, a camera, and more often just with open eyes and hearts. This place does not require fuss. It itself sets you up for silence. Fishermen also do not bypass the lake. They say that crucian carp, wild carp, and carp are found here. But, as on Lake Azhbae, the main thing is not the catch, but the process itself. Arrive at dawn, light a small fire, put on a kettle, cast a fishing rod and watch the sun slowly rise over the horizon – it’s worth traveling at least a hundred kilometers for this. The best time to visit is late spring, when the steppes around are covered with blooming tulips and poppies, or early autumn, when the feather grass turns golden. Be sure to take a tent with you – spending the night under the incredibly bright stars of the steppe sky will be one of the most memorable moments of your trip. And don’t forget your camera – you want to preserve such landscapes not only in your memory, but also in pictures.
Bozaigyr is not a resort, not a center for active recreation. There is no noise, cafes, boat rentals. And thank God. Because it is in this silence that its strength lies. In the opportunity to be alone with nature, without filters, without expectations, simply – as it is. Those who come here with respect always leave with something important. Maybe not with the fish, not with the photo, but with the feeling that it became a little lighter inside.
