Kairak Waterfall is one of the natural attractions of the Turgen Gorge. The waterfall is cascading, by regional standards it is quite large, its height is 55 meters. Kairak in translation from the Kazakh language means "to sharpen", this means that the water has sharpened its channel through the strongest rock. In general, waterfalls in Kazakhstan are a rare phenomenon, so they are very popular among lovers of outdoor activities. On the way to the waterfall, you can visit the famous "Chinturgen moss spruce forests", a mountain path leads to the waterfall, along which you can climb to the waterfall. The path leads up the beautiful Kairakty gorge along the Kairakty River, which flows downstream into the Turgen River, from where you begin your journey to the waterfall.

There is a staircase installed at the Kairaksky waterfall, which you can use to climb up and look at the waterfall from a panoramic point. Be careful on this staircase and follow safety precautions, water gets onto the bridge, so it may be slippery. There is some infrastructure for recreation on the route to the waterfall, there are gazebos, benches, tables where you can rest and eat.

Safety -

When traveling to the Kairak waterfall, observe mountain safety precautions, do not leave the trail, do not walk alone. You should have special boots for hiking in the mountains, matches, a compass, a flashlight, warm change of clothes, sunglasses, a cell phone, an extra battery or a charger for your phone, food. You can carry a lot of water with you, you don't need to carry it along the route, there are many springs where you can drink and collect water. When traveling to the waterfall, calculate your time correctly (the distance from the starting point to the waterfall is 8 km, 3 hours one way, that is, 3 hours there, 3 back, plus 2 hours for rest and being at the waterfall itself, a total of 8 hours, a full day) it is better to start the hike early in the morning so that you can go down in the afternoon. Do not go to the waterfall late or in rainy weather, watch the group members so that they do not leave the route and are always in sight, always stay together. Be sure to use the services of mountain guides who know the area, the road and the route well and have experience in the mountains.
