Kumbel is a picturesque mountain peak (mountain), located at an altitude of 3200 meters above sea level, is one of the main natural attractions of the Trans-Ili Alatau, a place for lovers of outdoor activities and hiking in the mountains. A mountain route leads to the peak through the Kok-Zhailau tract and the Three Brothers Mountain. There are three routes to the peak, the first longer one starts from the Big Almaty Gorge, the second slightly shorter one starts from the Small Almaty Gorge and the third route goes through the Gorelnik gorge. The routes are considered not difficult, and are suitable for all age categories. The journey time will take you the whole day, so you need to go to the mountain as early as possible, at 7 a.m. you already need to be on the route. Kumbel Peak has an average difficulty category for local peaks, but it can also be classified as an easy category.

The ascent to Kumbel Peak must be carried out in the presence of a mountain guide, a guide who knows the area well. The distance is 19 kilometers, the climb is 1,700 meters, the difficulty is for experienced tourists, the round-trip time is 10-12 hours. You also need to have equipment with you to stay in the mountains and climb to the peaks (mountain boots, panama hat, sun goggles, change of clothes if you sweat, windbreaker jacket /raincoat, at least a liter of water per person, tourist lunch, thermos with tea or coffee, matches, mobile phone, additional battery for the phone or a power bank, a folding knife, a flashlight). Be sure to keep an eye on the weather, choose clear sunny days for hiking in the mountains, consult with mountain guides.
