Kok-Zhailau is a beautiful mountain tract, it also represents a small mountain plateau, a natural landmark near the city of Almaty and a place of active recreation. The tract is located at an altitude of 2200 meters above sea level, it is surrounded by a forest of Tien Shan green and blue fir trees. The tract is accessible for walking from both the Big Almaty Gorge and the Small Almaty Gorge. There is a mountain route through the tract that leads to Three Brothers Mountain and then to Kumbel Peak. The route is not difficult, but it requires athletic training and the skill of being in a mountainous area, the whole journey can take you from 10 to 15 hours. The tract offers a magnificent panorama of the city of Almaty, which is located at the foot of the mountains and the mountains of the Trans-Ili Alatau. When traveling in this area, be sure to use the services of certified mountain guides and guides, they will prepare you for the hike, give you the necessary recommendations and safely guide you along the route. Do not travel through the mountains alone.

To climb the Kok-Zhailau plateau from the Ak-Bulak (Prosveshchenets) bus stop in the Small Almaty Gorge, you will need from two to three hours in one direction, it will take a little less time to descend. A mountain path leads to the tract, it is always clearly visible. Do not leave the trail, observe safety precautions. Up to 500 people can visit the Kok-Zhailau tract every day, so there are always people who go up and down. If desired and with good athletic training, we can climb to the top of Three Brothers and then to Kumbel peak. There is also a Battery waterfall in the tract, you can go down to it and admire the swift mountain water, the water in the waterfall is absolutely clean and you can drink it. Be sure to count your time, do not go to the mountains late and keep an eye on the weather, choose clear cloudless days for your trip. There are no fords across rivers and other dangerous areas in the tract. It is only when you get caught in the rain here that you need to move along the trail with great care, as the trail becomes wet and slippery. It is necessary to move around the tract in special mountain boots with ankle support. Insects, plants, animals and birds live on the territory of Kok-Zhailau, including very rare species listed in the Red Book in the "List of rare and Endangered species of animals and plants of the Republic of Kazakhstan". It is forbidden to litter and build bonfires in the tract.
