Peak Skalisty is a mountain peak located at an altitude of 3311 meters above sea level, is a pyramidal mountain, which is clearly visible from the middle part of the Big Almaty gorge. The peak is known under another name as Mount Yumba or Mount Shukur (Chukur). The ascent and descent to the mountain will take you one day and starts from the Alpine Rose Hotel, which can be reached by car. The distance in one direction is from 5 to 7.5 kilometers one way. Then you need to get to Lunnaya Polyana (Shukur) along the path and along the road that goes along the meadow, enter a narrow gorge at the end of the meadow. Then you need to move up the gorge and not force the mountain head-on from the meadow itself. The gorge, through which a small stream flows, will take you to a small mountain moraine, from which you need to go to the ridge and go back a little along it and reach the top of Skalisty Peak. The route is of medium difficulty, requires good athletic training and mountain skills. The descent from the top must be carried out along the ascent. From the peak, a panorama of the Big Almaty Lake opens up, which will be on your left side, you will also see from above the Big Almaty Gorge, the Tien Shan Astronomical Observatory, the Dzhusaly-Kezen Pass and the Cosmostation. Also from the peak, a gorgeous panorama opens up to the Sovetov Peak, Ozerny Peak, Bolshoy Almaty Peak, Tourist Peak and the Ozernaya River Valley.
