There are 2 routes to Peak Sovetov, one of them is the easiest, starts behind the Big Almaty Lake, the valley of the Ozernaya River, the ascent occurs along the left couloir with an exit to the ridge and the Sovetov Pass, and then along the ridge with an exit to the summit. The second route is more difficult and longer, starts from the valley of the Bolshaya Almatinka River. The first route can be used to conquer the mountain in one day, starting early in the morning at 5 am, the ascent can take from 5 to 8 hours, depending on your athletic training. Climbing the mountain is carried out only in the summer, July, August, at this time there is a minimum amount of snow on the mountain, the snow begins closer to the top.

You will also see Ozerny Peak, Big Almaty Lake, Big Almaty Gorge, Ozernaya River, Dzhusaly-Kezen Pass, Cosmostation, Tien Shan Astronomical Observatory, Big Almaty Peak, Tourist Peak, Abay Peak, Amangeldy Peak, Nursultan Peak, etc. From Big Almaty Lake, Sovetov Peak is very clearly visible. The ascent to the peak must be made in clear weather. It is also necessary to spend the night on Big Almaty Lake for the convenience of leaving early in the morning. If you have acclimatized, it is possible to ascend from Almaty. At 3 am, you need to leave Almaty to get to the lake and then ascend at 5 am. The Soviet Peak is also clearly visible from the city of Almaty; the summit is visible from different parts of the city except for the central and eastern parts of the city.
