Ozernoye Gorge (Lake Gorge) is a picturesque mountain gorge, located at altitudes from 2500 to 3100 meters above sea level in the Trans-Ili Alatau Mountains. The gorge is very popular among lovers of active recreation and hiking in the mountains, as it is located above the Big Almaty Lake and above the Big Almaty Gorge. The route in the gorge starts from the lake and leads along a pedestrian road that leads to the mountains behind the lake. The length of the route in one direction is about 6 kilometers, in both directions 12 kilometers. The route runs along the Ozernaya River, which flows into the lake. Along the way, you will see the Skalisty peak (Mount Yumba, Triangle), the Soviet peak and approach the foot of the Ozerny peak. This area is especially beautiful in July and August, during this period flowers and green grass bloom at such altitudes, a very beautiful flower called Ivan Chai blooms everywhere. Also, the Ozernoye Gorge is famous for being on a mountain route called "Bolshaya Almatinskaya Krugosvetka" (Great Almaty Circumnavigation), which lasts 4 days, passes through the Tourists Pass and leads to the Left Talgar Gorge.

In this area, you can find traces of ancient civilizations and cultures that existed here many centuries ago. Archaeological excavations in the territory of the Zailiysky Alatau show that the mountains served as important routes for ancient trade routes. You can also stop here for a rest and set up a tent camp.
