Antikainen Peak is a mountain peak located at an altitude of 4000 meters above sea level, nearby is the Manshuk Mametova Peak and the Patriotic War Peak, the route to the peak passes along the M. Mametova glacier. The most beautiful mountain peak is one of the many natural attractions in the mountains of Almaty. On the route to the peak, you can always meet people making a mountain hike to Lake No. 6 Manshuk Mametova. Antikainen Peak was named after the Finnish politician Toivo Antikainen, one of the organizers and leaders of the Communist Party of Finland. The peak is a pointed high tower 4000 meters high. The first ascent to the peak was made on July 7, 1940 by a group of young climbers from the city of Alma-Ata under the leadership of I. Mezdrikov.
The hike to Antikainen Peak can take two days with an overnight stay at Lake No. 6, starts from the high-mountain base Chimbulak, which can be reached by electric taxi, electric buses from the high-mountain sports complex and skating rink Medeo or by the cable car Medeu-Chimbulak. The Malaya Almatinka River flows through the gorge, and there is also the Tuyuk-Su tract, the Mynzhylki tract and the Mynzhylki weather station, and on the way to the peak you will see the famous Alpingrad glade. The route requires mountaineering skills, the ability to work in a team, the ability to work with special equipment on snowy, rocky terrain and on ice. The route is quite long, requires good physical fitness, the route requires the use of special equipment such as: a safety system, a helmet, a rope, a jumar, carabiners, an ice ax.
