Pamyat Peak (Memory) is a beautiful mountain peak, located at an altitude of 3665 meters above sea level, in the area of the Titov Pass in the middle part of the Small Almaty Gorge on a plateau in the Mynzhylki tract.
A picturesque mountain route leads to the peak, which starts from the Chimbulak high-mountain base, which can be reached by taxi or bus from the Medeo sports complex or by the Medeu-Chimbulak cable car in the Medeu tract. If desired, you can walk from Medeo to Chimbulak. The name of the peak and the peak itself are dedicated to the soldiers who died in the Afghan war. On the way to the peak you will see the Small Almaty River, the T1 glaciological station, and Titov Peak, which you can also climb. You can return from the mountain along the ascent route or go down to Lake Titov and return to Medeo through the Gorelnik gorge.
From the top of Pamyat Peak, a breathtaking panorama of the Zailiyskiy Alatau Mountains and the Ile-Alatau Mountain Park opens up, you can see Kumbel Peak and the city of Almaty, which is located at the foot of the mountains, is clearly visible. The total length of the route is 20 kilometers, the season is from May to October.
