The most beautiful hotel in the city of Almaty -
Excursion programs to architectural attractions of Almaty -
The Hotel "Kazakhstan" is one of the most recognizable symbols of Almaty, a real architectural dominant of the city and the pride of an entire era. Built in 1977, it became a real symbol of the capital of Soviet Kazakhstan and to this day remains a place where history, culture and modernity meet. Its height is 102 meters, the building has 26 floors. The main feature of the architecture is the oval shape of the building, due to which the hotel looks light and directed upward. The top of the building is crowned with an elegant gilded "crown", which gives the silhouette completeness and makes it a real dominant against the background of the Zailiyskiy Alatau mountains. Particular attention was paid to safety during the construction of the hotel: the structure is capable of withstanding earthquakes up to 9 points on the Richter scale. This was extremely important for Almaty, located in a seismically active zone.
The Kazakhstan Hotel is conveniently located in the central part of the city. Next to the hotel is a monument to Abai Kunanbayev, which stands on the square in front of the Palace of the Republic. Also in the immediate vicinity of the hotel is the Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan, next to which is a monument to A.S. Pushkin and the famous fountain "Eastern Calendar" (Signs of the Zodiac). If you want to quickly get to the mountains of Almaty from this hotel, you can visit Mount Kok-Tobe, on which the Almaty TV tower is located. Also along Dostyk Avenue from the stop opposite the hotel, bus No. 12 goes up the street. On this bus you can go up to the Small Almaty Gorge to the Medeo high-mountain sports complex and then by cable car to the Shymbulak base and further to the Talgar mountain pass.

Throughout the Soviet era, the Kazakhstan Hotel was the main and most fashionable hotel in the city, where foreign delegations, famous artists and political figures stayed. It witnessed many historical events. After Kazakhstan gained independence, the hotel continued to operate, retaining its historical name and status. In 2008-2010, the hotel underwent a large-scale reconstruction, during which the interiors and technical equipment were completely updated, which allowed it to meet modern international hospitality standards, while carefully preserving its unique historical appearance. The facades and interiors of the hotel are decorated with natural materials - marble, granite, stone. Inside, special attention is drawn to the monumental artistic design. A real pearl is the huge tapestry "Rainbow of Kazakhstan", 34 meters long, which decorates the central hall. The location of the hotel emphasizes its special status - it is located on Dostyk Avenue and near the mountains, which creates an impressive panoramic view. Thanks to this, "Kazakhstan" has become a kind of calling card of Almaty, its silhouette can be found on postcards, souvenirs and even on the Kazakhstani banknote of 5000 tenge.
