Information, Description, Architects

The monument was erected in 1999 at the intersection of Baitursynov and Satpayev Streets to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Kanysh Satpayev's birth. A nearly four-meter-tall bronze sculpture was erected in his honor, mounted on a massive granite pedestal. The figure depicts Kanysh at full height, confident and focused, as if he continues to lead a generation of explorers and discoverers of the earth's interior.

The monument was created by renowned masters—sculptor Tulegen Dosmagambetov and architect Arystan Kainarbayev—who captured the scientist's strength and determination throughout his life. A public garden surrounds the monument, offering a place to relax in the shade of the trees and feel a special atmosphere of respect for the man who laid the foundations of geological science in Kazakhstan.
