Central Asia's tallest architectural complex -
A multifunctional "city within a city" ecosystem -
Abu Dhabi Plaza is the most ambitious construction project in Astana and Kazakhstan, holding the status of the tallest building in the region. The architectural ensemble consists of five towers of varying heights, with a total area exceeding 500,000 square meters.
The dominant feature of the complex is the "Kazakhstan" tower, standing 320 meters tall (75 floors), which is three times the height of the Baiterek Monument. The project was implemented by the leading UAE developer Aldar Properties, known for constructing the Formula 1 circuit on Yas Island, ensuring the facility meets world standards for quality and safety.
The complex is designed as a fully autonomous environment for living and working. It houses Class A office spaces totaling over 85,000 square meters, capable of providing workspace for 12,000 people. For residents and guests of the capital, there is a modern shopping center, the five-star Sheraton Hotel, and an exotarium.
Special attention is paid to ecology: Abu Dhabi Plaza was built according to "green" construction principles and is certified under the international LEED system. Panoramic glazing, "smart" double-decker elevators, and integration with the Linear Park make this skyscraper the main center of attraction for the business and cultural life of the left bank.

History
Project development began in 2007, and the official agreement between Kazakhstan and the UAE was signed on June 11, 2009. In August of the same year, Nursultan Nazarbayev laid a time capsule in the foundation of the future skyscraper.
The active construction phase started in November 2010. The building process was technologically challenging due to the capital's harsh climate: Putzmeister concrete pumps delivered the mixture up to 700 meters horizontally even in winter.
The shopping center opened its doors on December 2, 2019, and the Sheraton Hotel began operations on March 16, 2020. Despite the long implementation period, the complex has become a key link in Astana's architectural ensemble.
Information
The developer was Aldar Properties, which manages assets worth 10 billion dollars. Innovative technologies from the PromStroyKontrakt Group were used during construction, including LENTON rebar couplers and PSK-CUP formwork.
The internal infrastructure includes not only offices and housing but also unique spaces: the KIDBURG children's city of professions with 54 playrooms, a Galmart supermarket, a fitness center, and a SPA. In the summer, an outdoor lawn cinema and food trucks with signature cuisine operate on the territory.
Detailed description of the objects
• Kazakhstan Tower: 75 floors (320 meters), residential apartments and office blocks.
• Office Buildings: Two towers of 29 and 30 floors with modern European interior design.
• Residential Block: A 15-story building with apartments featuring a direct internal passage to the shopping center.
• Sheraton Hotel: 190 rooms and 100 branded apartments with premium service.
• Abu Dhabi Plaza Mall: 26,000 sq. m of retail space, franchise restaurants like Dodo, Yakitoriya, #FARSH, and coffee shops.
Architecture
The skyscraper is built using monolithic-frame technology with almost continuous mirror glazing. The project complies with LEED standards (energy-efficient and ecological design).
The architectural style emphasizes a vertical reach, using stepped transitions between buildings of different heights. A special feature is the presence of "smart" elevators and systems that ensure maximum natural light in working zones. Next to the complex is the Linear Park with platforms for skateboarding, workout areas, and the Altyn Zhurek monument.
Legend
Since the time capsule in the foundation was personally laid by the first president, a legend lives among the townspeople that this action endowed the building with a special "state" energy of stability.
It is said that Abu Dhabi Plaza acts as a kind of beacon for financial luck: if you hold a business meeting on one of the upper floors in the rays of the setting sun, the project will be destined for success.
In the evenings, classical music plays by the fountain in the Linear Park, which, according to local residents, helps artists and musicians get into a creative mood.
