Popular walking area between Abu Dhabi Plaza and the Astana Botanical Garden -
Linear Park is assigned the role of a key connecting link in the architectural ensemble of the left bank of Astana. This unique urban park, located in the Yesil district, connects such iconic objects as the Abu Dhabi Plaza Mall and the Botanical Garden, being in close proximity to the Alau Ice Palace and the Mangilik El Triumphal Arch.
The place impresses with its well-thought-out infrastructure oriented towards all age groups. On an area of 14 hectares, conditions for leisure have been created: from children's and sports grounds to zones for creativity.
Linear Park is designed to organically complement the territory of the Botanical Garden, offering open spaces for mass events. The park provides special locations for street artists, chess players, and even a rope park, which makes it a unique place near the Astana Arena infrastructure.
Linear Park is an important element of the capital's ecological framework, where urban planning is combined with comfort. Wide pedestrian paths, dry fountains, and modern lighting make it attractive at any time of the day.
It is important to note that the park's territory is protected from development: the Akimat has officially confirmed that no housing or business centers are being built here, and vacant plots after the dismantling of old dormitories are turning into new green zones and places for social facilities, such as a public library.

History
The history of Linear Park began in 2017 when active construction of the facility started. The first stage was timed to City Day in 2018. The project was conceived as a logical continuation of the pedestrian axis uniting large public spaces of the left bank. Special attention was paid to the section from Almaty Street to Kerey Zhanibek Khandar, where temporary dormitories for Abu Dhabi Plaza builders were previously located.
After the dismantling of these buildings, the Akimat decided to landscape the vacated territory, supplementing it with new trees and a public library. The development of the park continues to this day: the third section (from Kerey Zhanibek Khandar Street to Orynbor) is being systematically integrated with the Botanical Garden territory. Today, the park is officially recognized as a protected zone where priority is given only to green spaces and public interests.
Information
Linear Park covers an area of 14 hectares and has more than 2 kilometers of bicycle paths. The park's infrastructure includes concrete bases for driveways, a watering system, and modern fountain equipment.
A dry fountain, a skate park, and multi-level children's play complexes function on the territory. Almost all installed park infrastructure, including equipment for playgrounds and lighting systems, is of domestic production.
Every year the park is replenished with new tree saplings, which allows for a constant increase in the green mass area. In winter, the park remains popular as a place for walking, and in summer the territory is completely transformed thanks to the planting of various flower beds and the launch of fountains.
Creativity zones have been created in the park: areas for chess players and places for street artists to work, which emphasizes its status as an intellectual and cultural space.
Detailed description of the object
A walk through Linear Park is a transition between the urban architecture of Abu Dhabi Plaza and the natural tranquility of the Botanical Garden. One of the main attraction points is the skate park and the multi-level playground, which are in great demand among youth and families. Along the paths paved with high-quality paving stones, modern lighting poles and small architectural forms are installed, giving the park a European look.
Of special note is the dry fountain, which becomes a center of attraction in the evening thanks to dynamic lighting. The park is adapted for all categories of citizens, including sports enthusiasts: zones with professional surfaces are equipped here. In quiet corners of the park, comfortable benches are installed where you can hide from city noise and enjoy the atmosphere of a busy but cozy boulevard.
Architecture
The architectural style of Linear Park is concise and functional. The use of concrete, paving stones, and modern lighting fixtures harmonizes with the facades of surrounding high-rise buildings. The vertical planning of the territory allowed for the most efficient use of space, creating levels for active pursuits and quiet contemplation. The park's design code is maintained in a single style, making it a cohesive element of modern Astana architecture.
Legend and conclusion
Linear Park is called the "green artery" of the Astana business center. There is a belief that walking along this axis helps to find the right solution in difficult matters, thanks to a special combination of movement and rest.
The park has become proof that even in a dense metropolis development, a space can be created where a person feels comfortable. This place is a must-visit as an example of successful urban environment implementation, where residents' interests and ecology stand above commercial development.
