One-day hikes in the forests near Lake Borovoe -
Panoramic points in Burabay National Park -
The Three Sisters Rock in Burabay National Park is one of the most mysterious and romantic places in this magical corner of Kazakhstan. Among the pine forests and clear lakes, three majestic stone blocks rise up, standing next to each other, like three stone guardians frozen in time. Coming closer, you feel their powerful energy – these 30-meter-high stone giants seem to radiate ancient power. It is especially beautiful here at dawn or sunset, when the sun's rays paint the granite in pinkish-golden tones, and the fog spreads at the foot, creating the illusion that the rocks are floating in the air. The Kazakh name of this place sounds like "Ush-Kyz", which in translation from the Kazakh language means "Three Girls". These rocks are granite remnants 450-575 meters above sea level, and are divided into the names of the Elder Sister, Middle Sister and Younger Sister. The rocks have a pointed top and belong to the Kokshetau Upland (Mount Kokshetau). The rocks are clearly visible from the top panoramic point, to which a walking route leads. From this panoramic point, a beautiful panorama of Lake Borovoye (Auliekol), Mount Okzhetpes and the rocky island of Zhumbaktas opens up. You can also see Lake Big Chebachye and in the distance you can see Lake Shchuchye.

Legend -
According to legend, once upon a time there lived three sisters - kind, beautiful and loving freedom. They refused to marry by order of the cruel khan, not wanting to part with each other and lose their will. They prayed to the sky and the mountains to keep them together forever. Hearing their prayer, the earth shook – and turned them into three rocks that stand next to each other to this day, looking into the distance, towards eternity. Forest paths stretch nearby, the fresh air is filled with the scent of pine and wildflowers. It is easy to breathe here and think deeply. The Three Sisters Rock is not just a natural formation, but a symbol of feminine strength, fortitude, loyalty and love. This is a place where nature tells fairy tales without words. And yes, do not try to climb to the very tops without equipment – although the rocks seem strong, some areas are heavily weathered and can be dangerous. It is better to simply enjoy their grandeur from below or look at them from above, sipping kumiss and imagining how many centuries these stone guardians have been watching the changing world around them.
