Information -

Tuyuksu Gate Peak (Vorota) became famous in the early 20th century, when climbers and explorers began to actively explore the Zailiyskiy Alatau Mountains. The peak got its name from the Tuyuk-Su Gate tract where it is located. The first ascents to the summit were made in the 1930s, and since then the peak has become a popular destination for intermediate climbers. In Soviet times, the peak area was used for mountaineering training and rock climbing competitions. Its relatively accessible height, location, and picturesque routes attract both experienced climbers and novice tourists. Climbing the peak requires basic mountaineering skills, but is not overly difficult, making it ideal for training and introductory hikes.
Tuyuksu Gate Peak and the surrounding areas play an important role in the Zailiyskiy Alatau ecosystem. The glaciers located in the peak area are a source of fresh water for the rivers that feed the city of Almaty and its surroundings. Melting glaciers in the summer maintain the water balance in the region, which is especially important for agriculture and water supply. In addition, the mountainous region where the peak is located is home to many species of plants and animals typical of high-mountain ecosystems. Here you can find rare species of flowers, such as edelweiss, as well as animals, including mountain goats and snow leopards.
