Kokshetau Lakes – the Steppe Magic of Kazakhstan

Journey Through All the Lakes of Burabay and Kokshetau Parks -

Nature and Attractions of Akmola Region -

Kokshetau Lakes are not just water and shores, they are a whole universe consisting of large and small lakes, where every stone breathes history, and the waves of these waters whisper legends of ancient nomads. Imagine: morning, fog spreads over the water like milk, the sun rises over the rocks, and the air is so fresh that it seems as if your lungs are working at full capacity for the first time in your life. You go out onto the shore of Lake Borovoe (Auliekol) – sand crunches under your feet, mixed with pine needles, the water is clear as a tear, and somewhere in the distance, high in the sky, an eagle screams. This is not a vacation – it is a reboot of the soul. Kokshetau Lakes spread their water surface over the territory of two natural parks and two districts.

In Burabay National Park you can visit the most interesting natural objects andsights such as: Lake Bolshoe Chebachye (Big), Lake Maloe Chebachye (Small), Lake Katarkol, Lake Zhukey, Lake Borovoe and the healing Lake Maibalyk.

In Kokshetau National Park you will see and swim in such lakes as: Lake Imantau, Lake Zerendi (Zerenda) and Lake Shalkar. These are the three main lakes of this park on which the tourist infrastructure for recreation is built. There are also such lakes as: Lake Lobanovskoye, Lake Aiyrtauchik, Lake Baysary and Lake Beloye.

Kokshetau lakes are real gems scattered in the picturesque expanses of northern Kazakhstan. They are like a reflection of the sky, hidden among pine forests, soft hills and quiet valleys. Each lake is like a separate world, with its own mood, character and voice. Everything here is filled with freshness: the air is thick with pine needles and moisture, the wind whispers ancient tales, and the water, like a mirror, reflects the soul of this land. Here you just want to be: sit on the shores of these lakes, listen to the silence, catch the reflection of the clouds with your gaze and forget about time. No resort in the world can replace these simple but deep feelings when you are among nature, which does not scream, but simply lives. These lakes are not for vanity - they are for those who feel with their hearts. And when you stand by the water, you hear only the wind in the crowns and the songs of birds - you understand that this is how the harmony of soul, body and nature should sound.
