Qazaqstan Athletics Complex: A World-Class Sports Facility

Arena with World Athletics certificate and high-tech sports center -

Qazaqstan Athletics Complex is assigned the role of the country's main arena for hosting major international track and field competitions. This unique facility, built in 2020 by decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the capital of Kazakhstan, the city of Astana, has no analogues in the region in terms of equipment level and infrastructure quality.

Located in close proximity to the Astana Arena stadium and the Barys Arena ice palace, the complex is the base of the Olympic Training Center and a venue for championships of the highest rank.

The place impresses with its futuristic architecture, which differs cardinally from popular analogues. The building in the shape of an irregular polyhedron with broken edges and illuminated perforation symbolizes the path of human movement to the heights of goals.

The three-story interior space is designed to provide ideal conditions for sprinting, jumping, and throwing near Abu Dhabi Plaza Mall. Here, the graphic nature of the composition meets advanced training technologies not far from the Botanical Garden and the Mangilik El Triumphal Arch.

The complex is a key link in the capital's sports cluster, offering opportunities not only for professionals but also for sports enthusiasts through various sections. Thanks to its proximity to Linear Park and Ulytau Alley, a visit to the arena is easy to combine with a walk through modern quarters.

History

The history of the Qazaqstan complex began in November 2020, when the facility was commissioned by the BI Group construction company using funds from the Samruk-Kazyna fund. The main goal was to create a base certified by World Athletics (IAAF), which allows for the recording of world achievements. The project immediately became a center of attraction for young talents and experienced masters of the queen of sports.

In a short period, the arena became the main site for training national teams and holding national championships. Its architectural concept, inspired by sports dynamics and crystalline forms, turned the building into a symbol of sporting excellence. The history of the arena is an example of Kazakhstan's integration into the global sports elite through the creation of infrastructure that meets all the rules of World Athletics.

Information

Qazaqstan Complex is a multifunctional facility with stands for 6,838 seats. The athletics core includes 6 lanes of 200 meters and 8 lanes for sprinting at 50 and 60 meters. Sectors for pole vault, long jump, high jump, and triple jump are provided, as well as an area for shot put. The complex also features a 25-meter pool with 6 lanes and a unique pool with built-in treadmills.

The facility's infrastructure includes an athletic hall, a 160-meter warm-up track, and a dormitory for athletes with 40 beds. For holding events, there is a conference hall for 400 seats and an interview hall with interpreter booths. A cafe for 130 seats operates in the complex. Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday from 07:00 to 23:00 (the fitness center operates according to an individual schedule).

Detailed description of the object

A walk through the Qazaqstan complex allows you to appreciate the plasticity of the facades made of steel panels. Inside the building, everything is dedicated to functionality: zones for the press, technical blocks, and warm-up areas are provided. Sections for adults and children from 7 years old operate in the arena, and memberships for the gym and pool are offered.

On competition days, the complex turns into the epicenter of sporting life, raising a new generation of champions in an atmosphere of discipline and team spirit. Proximity to Barys Arena and the Botanical Garden makes the area around the arena a great place for active leisure. In the evening, the perforated facades of the building are effectively illuminated, highlighting its futuristic silhouette against the night sky of Astana.

Architecture

The architectural composition of the Qazaqstan arena is based on multifaceted geometry and the rhythm of diagonal lines. The contrast of glass and metal creates an expressive image that differs cardinally from conventional indoor stadiums. The use of lamellas and graphic forms emphasizes the athletes' aspiration for the heights. The building is harmoniously integrated into the sports cluster, becoming its modern conclusion and a bright architectural accent of Turan Avenue.

Legend and conclusion

It is believed that the unique geometry of the Qazaqstan building accumulates the energy of victory, inspiring athletes to new achievements.

Qazaqstan Athletics Complex is the pride of Kazakhstan and a center of inspiration for future Olympians. Its visit is a must for those who want to see how the architectural metaphor of movement is embodied in real sporting successes in the very center of the modern capital.
