Almaty-Alagir Pass is a mountain pass located in the Trans-Ili Alatau Mountains at an altitude of 3650 meters above sea level near the Almaty-Alagir Mountain peak. The pass is very popular among outdoor enthusiasts, multi-day hikes in the mountains and climbers, as it is located on an interesting mountain route. This route and pass connect the Prokhodnoye gorge and the Ozernoye gorge (the Ozernaya River valley), along which you can reach the Big Almaty Lake and then descend into the Big Almaty gorge. This route is available in the opposite direction, and also serves as a starting point for climbing various mountain peaks that are located along the route, such as Ozerny Peak, Sovetov Peak, Big Almaty Peak, Tourist Peak, Karnizny Peak, Skalisty Peak (Shukur Mountain, Yumba), Pila Peak, Maryasheva Peak. In addition, this route includes visiting such natural attractions as Dikoye Lake (Scotland) and Terra Mountain Glade (Vladimir Vysotsky Glade). In addition to all of the above, along this route from Prokhodnoye Gorge, through Ozernoye Gorge and further through Tourist Pass, you can make a long transition to Left Talgar Gorge and reach Big Talgar Pass and descend to Small Almaty Gorge, but this expedition will take quite a long time.
